Purpose
Our Spartan Time structure is a holistic approach that not only addresses academic development but also recognizes the importance of social and emotional well-being. By combining academic interventions with SEL activities, we are fostering a well-rounded educational experience that takes into account the whole student.
Each day, students take a break for a snack.
From Monday to Thursday, students will focus on their individual academic journeys, utilizing interventions or navigating personalized learning experiences in English, Math, Social Studies, and Science, addressing individual student needs and promoting academic growth.
On Fridays, their attention shifts to Social Emotional Learning activities using COMPASS lessons. Incorporating Compass lessons is a great way to develop important skills such as self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
As our world becomes increasingly complex, students and those who support them need new ways to work together to address and navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead. That is why we use Compass, a year-long curriculum designed to help all students develop a range of key life skills. Compass provides students, families, and educators with digital tools and informational resources that address key social and emotional issues, character education, and intervention/restorative practices.
